About ROOM8

ROOM8 is a roommate matching app, launched on 18 January 2017, designed to serve Millennial renters. It utilizes social media data to produce matches based on mutual connections, budget, location, lifestyle and interests. Whether a user is looking for a room, needs to fill a room, or wants to find someone great to search for a place together – the app creates an all in one experience and marketplace, aimed at taking what has been a painful experience and making it simple.

We are looking for a marketing go-getter to manage our marketing efforts and drive growth. You will be in charge of attracting new users and driving relevant traffic and leads from our digital presence. This includes leading the management of social media and other digital channel accounts and implementing strategies and tactics that grow our user base. You should have command of best practices and trends in social media and general marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

Responsibilities

  • Evolve our customer acquisition strategy by testing and scaling new marketing approaches and channels

  • Help develop compelling creative for use in digital advertising

  • Manage the execution and work with third parties to design, launch, track and assess campaigns

  • Manage relationships with agency partners, serving as the primary point of contact

  • Collaborate closely with the ROOM8 team to deliver on successful programs for third party strategic partners, this will include working with business development for cross/social marketing and event opportunities to promote ROOM8

  • Develop a deep understanding of our capabilities and be able to guide and set expectations with prospects and partners 

  • Continuously explore new opportunities for growth and customer acquisition

  • 3+ years in a results-focused marketing role preferably in a startup environment with experience in social media and other digital marketing, use of influencers, and grass root marketing strategies

  • Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media with a command of various products (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, Blogs) and their best practices

  • Experience in developing creative assets

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing simultaneous projects and activities

  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a high attention to detail

  • Self-starter with strong ability to solve problems and identify creative solutions on your own to get the job done

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field
