UX Designer

Overview

As part of the Knowledge Sharing and Communications Project, the UX Designer is responsible for the production and documentation of interaction designs and information architecture structures, using industry best practices and established style guides. Gathers requirements and scopes projects based on input from business and technology partners for internet channel consumer and internal audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Deep practical and theoretical knowledge of and personal experience with multiple key interaction design and information architecture activities.

  • Solid experience creating wireframes, user flows & process flows with sensitivity to user-system interaction. Demonstrated ability working with Visual Designers, Web Editors and Usability teams as well as an understanding of various deliverables produced by other User Experience disciplines.

  • Facilitates requirements gathering with business and technology partners, both in group as well as one-on-one situations.

  • Evaluates the scope of projects—making assessments and assumptions regarding the scope of effort required for the User Experience team.

  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends (e.g. responsive design), techniques, and technologies.
  • Tests design work in production for quality and adherence to standards. Logs bugs, and follows-up on fixes.

  • Collaborate with a matrixed/multi-disciplinary project team throughout all stages of design process, providing potential design solutions and participates in selecting final approaches to design challenges.

Must-Haves:

 

  • 4+ years of experience as a UX Designer

 

-Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

 

-Front-end development implementation

 

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Omnigraffle, HTML5 and CSS 3 tools

  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator Trained ‘eye’ for design elements, specifically around testing and reviewing implementation of a visual design style guide

  • Familiar with the wide variety of usability concepts, best practices, and procedures, as well as the basic concepts of user centered design

  • Demonstrated ability to work with and lead cross-discipline design teams and collaborate with clients, developers, and fellow designers

  • Experience developing design plans/or gathering user research and insights to aid in the design and presentation process

  • Excellent project management and presentation skills

  • Ability to maintain focus on project detail and overall brand awareness while understanding and managing business partner and customer needs

  • Ability to present multiple design concepts to problems

 

Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, New Media, or equivalent experience) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
